Community outreach in Vieux Fort

The interactive sessions provide the information necessary to start or build competitive businesses.

The Small Enterprise Development Unit (SEDU) of the Department of Commerce, International Trade, Investment, Enterprise Development and Consumer Affairs, will host a business community outreach in the town of Vieux Fort, tomorrow.

The event forms part of the department’s Entrepreneurial Development Program which focuses on the promotion of an entrepreneurial culture and the development of best practices amongst potential and existing micro and small business owners.

This community outreach is the second in a series of outreach meetings that will be held once a month in communities around the island in 2017.

The first community outreach held at the Soufriere Primary School on Jan. 25, was hailed a resounding success. This week’s session will address SEDU’s services (which includes assistance with business name registration), and the Consumer Affairs Department’s services (which includes consumer rights).

SEDU encourages all persons who either own businesses or intend to start a business to attend the activity. It is expected to be a very interactive session where persons will receive the information necessary to start or build competitive businesses.

For information on this and other upcoming training opportunities for existing or prospective entrepreneurs, contact Egbert Stevens at 758.468.4223/4221 or 758.285.4573, or visit SEDU on the 4th Floor of the Heraldine Rock Building.

The business community outreach event will be held on March 1 from 4 – 6 p.m. at the Vieux Fort Primary School.
