Construction Of Music Recording Studio In Gros Islet Begins

Prime Minister Allen Chastanet has announced the official commencement of the construction of the Gros Islet Music Recording Studio.

“Looking forward to the opportunities which will be created for local musicians and producers upon the completion of this project,” Chastanet wrote Friday on his official Facebook page.

Last year Gros Islet MP Lenard ‘Spider’ Montoute  announced the signing of a contract under the Basic Needs Trust Fund for the project.

“We are creating opportunities for our Musicians and producers in Gros Islet,” Montoute explained at the time.

The Music Recording Studio will be located at the Gros Islet Human Resource Development Centre.

Montoute disclosed that upon completion of the studio,  musicians will have access to state of the art recording equipment and technical support to help improve the quality of their craft, whilst benefiting from assistance which will help take their creations “well beyond our borders.”

  1. Well please explain to us what you have not said.Because all this is very expensive. Now goverment wants to cash in on the music business.Goverment going to help those that cant aford to rent a recording studio? Next you going to build gas stations to sell us gas at a cheaper price ?

  2. SMH. There are many talented youths who have been crying out for a recording music studio. Govt is helping them, Our very own. They could record and move forward in life. What is wrong with dat. Btw it is being built with GRANT FUNDING from CDB. Gov’t is not lending or borrowing money to do it. And it went through a regional competitive bidding process as stipulated by CDB bidding guidelines.

  3. I think this is a good venture proposed by the Minister who is responsible for ‘Who the fork’. I hope there is a building for kidnapped persons too.

  4. Meanwhile still no hospital for the sick and dying…play music and dance your troubles away nation of party animals and rum drinkers

  5. There is another recording studio in Gross Islet, that belongs a honorable rasta man,now we have two, great for those that cant aford to pay for the electricity all the equipment consumes.Im not sure about goverment getting involved.
