Law enforcement officials have identified the deceased as Paul Dormant of Pierrot, Vieux Fort.

Saint Lucia Fire Service spokeswoman, Stacy Joseph, said that about 2.30 pm, personnel at the Vieux Fort fire station responded to a call at Pierrot, Vieux Fort.

“Information received indicated that a concrete wall collapsed on a male construction worker at a house renovation site,” Joseph disclosed in a statement to the media.

She said responding officers found one male, who appeared to be in his thirties, unresponsive and with no vital signs.

“It was observed that the patient had deformities on his body. CPR was immediately initiated and continued en route to St Jude Hospital, where the patient was pronounced dead by a medical practitioner,”  Joseph stated.

  1. Safety is secondary in St. Lucia. Hard hats appear optional, open toe flip flops instead of steel toe boots. Nothing making sense?
