Saint Lucia police have launched an investigation into an audio recording of the apparent physical abuse of a child by an adult, because the child defecated on himself.

The recording was posted on social media along with a photograph of the alleged male perpetrator.

It is alleged that the incident occurred in Castries.

“Not yesterday I tell you when you want to poop, say you want to poop?” The male individual says on the recording.

He goes on to accuse the child of soiling a chair twice the previous day.

“I just go by the road, I come back (and) you s*** all on the floor?” The irate male demands.

The demand is followed by the sound of blows and outcries.

“Go and pick it up – you that picking it up. You that picking it up! You that picking it up (expletive),” the male asserts, as he launches into an  expletive filled rant, with the sound of lashes punctuating his angry remarks.

“Three days in a row, you still s*** on the floor this morning? Move  your (expletive).”

“Your mother ain’t come and (expletive) take you?”  He asks.

The male, still spouting expletives  then orders the child to clean up the mess.

Saint Lucia police say they have a copy of the recording in their possession and the Vulnerable Persons Team has started an investigation.
