Police say they took DNA samples from a family that may have a link to a female whose partially decomposed body officers discovered last week.
Investigators took the samples in an attempt to identify the deceased, Superintendent George Nicholas disclosed on Monday.
Nevertheless, he reiterated a police appeal to the public for information that would help to identify the individual.
According to Nicholas, on Saturday about 1:30 pm the police discovered the body.
The location was the Pigeon Island causeway, Gros Islet.
He disclosed that a pathologist will perform an autopsy at a later date.
