Vieux Fort South MP and former Prime Minister, Dr. Kenny Anthony, has issued a message to his constituents warning that the COVID-19 situation locally is serious and worrisome and urging them to take all necessary steps to protect themselves.
He urged the wearing of masks, observing social distancing and avoiding crowds as much as possible.
The Vieux Fort South MP also encouraged his constituents to get vaccinated to protect themselves from the new variants and encourage their family to do the same.
“If you decide to get vaccinated, please do so at your soonest – do not delay,” he urged.
Anthony, who has issued similar messages in the past while in opposition, noted that Saint Lucia is now experiencing a major spike in COVID-19 cases.
“While most of the cases are in the North of the Island, there are also a significant number of cases in our community and constituency,” the former Prime Minister explained.
“The only way we can defeat COVID is to take responsibility for ourselves and for each other,” he declared.
