Saint Lucia has announced new COVID-19 protocols for December 2021 to January 2022, amid global concern over the Omicron variant.

“At this time, we have no evidence that Omicron is in our country. However, we believe its entry and likely spread is unavoidable. Our only option is to do everything within our power to contain its spread. And by “we,” I refer to ALL of us, not just the Government,” Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs Minister Moses Jn Baptiste said in a statement on Friday.

He announced that Cabinet had decided to amend the protocols as follows:

 Confinement on Monday, December 13, 2021, will begin at 5 p.m.

 Confinement on Monday, January 3, 2021, will begin at 5 p.m.

Jn Baptiste disclosed that all other protocols remain the same with 10 p.m. confinement Monday to Saturdays on the specific days not mentioned, while on Sundays confinement will remain at 5 p.m.

The protocols will expire on January 14.

  4. I never like uwp so I voted slp right now slp n the protocolsame not make any sense at all the day when there is a possibility for damage like Xmas n new years there no curfew , and regular day have curfew Yall ppl don’t know what Yall doing it regretted voting for slp , Chas was doing a better job when it came to curfews

  5. @Hmmm, Any level headed person can do better that that piece of crap. With such pattern why no early confinement on Saturday? Will the virus get drunk on Christmas day and not be effective? After celebrating Friday, Saturday and Sunday won’t most rest on Monday in order to prepare for work the next day.

  6. Currently there is a carnival vibe in Castries city. Load music can be heard all the way in Morne du Don. Carnival music blasting bikes revving and all sorts. I guess we do not have to worry of the fun fair on Friday and Saturday nights. Only be cautious on Sunday evenings and holiday evenings since it is the DAY WHEN COVID19 step out and do mischief.

  7. John Joseph keep dreaming loser. You’re on here barking while your Massa Allen Chastanet keeps running of to Canada

  8. I always wonder why people are so quick to complain about each government that is in power, calling them fools and all.sorts of names. Question is….can you do a better job?

  9. Those protocols are dumb. Once again I’ll say it, covid has no special days where it spreads more. Everyone is free to roam everyday except a Sunday or holiday til 10pm, and y’all feel that’s something to be proud of

  10. What’s up Minister of Protocol. I stole that phase because is so applicable.

Any this party will be dissolved within six months. With most readied at the helm.

  11. @the crow shit your flat behind. I remember you always attacking the protocols when she was pm. So shut the hell up!!! Now your black slave beater is in power you want to shut people down. Flat ass go to hell

  12. @black cotton bring back your Massa Allen not too bright Chastanet and Mary Muppet Isaac if you can locate them

  13. @just Saying. If your master, Hurricane Chas, and his cohorts believe so strongly about the legality of the “confinement”, why don’t they pursue it in the courts? Not the courts of public opinion but the courts of law. I will not hold my breath though!

  14. There is no state of emergency. So there for there is no legal grows to impose a curfew. I will not be abiding.

  15. SLT, i really do hope you guys are the ones taking a piss, because that photo the “ministry of hell” put up there proves to me that the smiling jackass is taking us for papishow.
