Fernel Sexius, also known as ‘Cookie’ , who was shot by the police in Vieux Fort earlier this month, has been released from hospital and is currently on remand at Bordelais Correctional Facility (BCF), law enforcement officials have confirmed.

According to information obtained by St Lucia Times, Sexius has been slapped with several charges.

They include possession of an unlicensed firearm and resisting arrest.

Sexius, for whom a warrant of arrest had been issued, was a passenger on a bus that was stopped by a police patrol at the Aupicon junction in Vieux Fort on August 7.

He is reported to have fled with law enforcers in hot pursuit.

Gunshots were fired and the fugitive was hit, later being taken to St Jude Hospital where he was under armed police guard.

It was reported that a firearm was later found in the area where Sexius was shot.

According to information obtained by St Lucia Times, Sexius was on bail in connection with a charge of attempted murder when he was shot by the police.

  1. He’s just one of the members of a big crew and by the looks of things they are young, stupid and dangerous running things and calling shots in V-Fort. And if they aren’t stopped now they might get way out of control and do things that might only leave us with our mouths open.

  2. Human rights activists usually talk about criminal records; So is he a criminal or not? If he is, then crucifie him, because we don’t need his roots in our society; if he is not a criminal, then let the law take its course!
