The sister of one of the two men who died after being shot in Agard Monday afternoon, believes her sibling was in the ‘wrong place at the wrong time’.
The sister told St Lucia Times that her deceased brother, Barry Leonce, was also likely hanging out with the wrong crowd and paid with his life.
“I heard that they were chilling and some guys just started shooting,” she said.
She indicated that her brother was a calm individual who was always by himself.
“He was not the sort of person to go and look for trouble with other people,” she stated.
The sister said the death has hit her and other relatives hard.
A police statement said that on Monday August 20, 2018 about 4:00 pm, officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department responded to a report of a shooting incident.
According to the statement, as a consequence of the shooting Barry Leonce, 31, of Morne du Don and Miguel Charlery, a 25 year old resident of Balata succumbed to their injuries.
Two other individuals sustained gunshot wounds and are receiving medical treatment at a medical institution, the police said.
They are presently in a stable condition.
No one has been arrested in connection with the Agard incident and the police have appealed for anyone with information to contact the Major Crime Unit at 456 3756 or the Criminal Investigations Department at 456 3770.
