CSA, Public Service Minister Hold ‘Frank And Open’ Talks

Press Release:-  Representatives of the St. Lucia Civil Service Association (CSA) met with the Honourable Dr. Virginia Albert–Poyotte, Minister of the Public Service on Thursday, September 16, 2021. 

A number of issues and concerns were discussed, including: the role of the Department of the Public Service within the wider context of the Public Service; the management of COVID-19; the temporary hold on promotions; the proliferation of short term contracts and outstanding matters from the Collective Agreement.

The discussions were frank and open and the Minister reiterated her support for trade unions and gave a commitment to ensure that workers would have a voice in decision making, where possible.

The CSA was pleased with the opportunity to engage with the new Minister and officials of the Department of the Public Service and looks forward to a positive relationship in the future.
