Deceased In Bruceville Double Homicide Identified

Police have identified the deceased in the Bruceville, Vieux Fort, double homicide as Benjamin Poleon of Belle Vue, Vieux Fort and Harvey Estephane of Pierrot, Vieux Fort.

According to law enforcement officials, both were shot on the Promenade at Bruceville about 1.00 am Saturday.

Poleon is reported to have succumbed to his injuries after being transported to St Jude Hospital.

Estephane died on the scene from an apparent gunshot wound to the head.

Police say they are trying to piece together exactly what led up to the double homicide Saturday morning and establish a motive for the killings.

There have so far been no arrests.
