A Dennery family has reported that a twenty-nine-year-old brain tumor patient has been missing since Mother’s Day.
A relative told St. Lucia Times that Jean Claude Sealy disappeared from his home in Dennery, where he lived alone in a house close to a sibling.
The sibling takes care of him.
Although suffering from a brain tumor, residents often see him wandering about in the community before he returns home.
But on Mother’s Day, he left wearing trousers, shirtless and barefooted, and did not return.
According to a family member, Sealy has been unwell since sustaining a head injury during childhood.
As a result of his illness, he suffers from seizures.
Family members and the police have conducted several searches to find the missing twenty-nine-year-old, but their efforts have so far been unsuccessful.
And they have asked anyone with information to contact the nearest police station.

@Truth be told – I believe you are right. There is very little compassion shown towards people in St Lucia with mental health issues. In some cases outright hostility and even violence as we have seen on some occasions. Lucians pride themselves on being friendly and helpful and yet I have witnessed and seen appalling behaviour towards those people who are “different”. Of course some are kind, but just not enough (nor government services) to really help those people and their families who need it.
That’s a long time for him to be missing.
People do care to a certain extent. Since childhood, he has had this issue, and yet it was not rectified. Understandably, the family may not have had funds at the time to have him seek medical care, but still. We need to pay closer attention to our own as well as other people out there. Sad, and sorry to say he may have had a seizure and is lying somewhere out there. Please continue the search for him.
