Derelict Vehicle Removal In Micoud

Press Release:-  The Saint Lucia Solid Waste Management Authority continued its derelict vehicle removal drive in the community of Micoud commencing March 07, 2019.  Work will however continue until the nineteen (19) derelict vehicles identified throughout the community are removed.

The exercise is being implemented based on a priority list which upon completion will eventually serve to eliminate the associated health and safety hazards associated with derelict vehicles.

Since the commencement of the programme in October 2018, approximately sixty-five (65) derelict vehicles have been removed by the Authority in various communities throughout the island.

The public is however reminded that the responsibility for removal of derelict vehicles is that of the owners.  As such owners are encouraged to cooperate and take responsibility for the removal of derelict vehicles from public spaces.  Derelict vehicles must also be transported to the Deglos Sanitary Landfill or the Vieux-Fort Solid Waste Management Facility given the danger posed to human health and the environment.
