Police Commissioner, Milton Desir, has been responding to concerns over a recent spate of armed robberies at business establishments in Castries.
“We had our strategy – actually, we usually look at the statistics and what we do is we direct our resources towards where we believe has an increase in crime, especially crimes against individuals – robberies, stealing from persons and so on. So what we have done, we have teams in place. We have patrol teams both by day and by night,” Desir disclosed.
He said a senior officer has responsibility for the patrol teams.
“So we have coverage, especially around the City at nights,” the Police Commissioner stated.
Desir spoke to reporters Wednesday as he emerged from an ecumenical service to mark Public Service Day.
