Former Saint Lucia Prime Minister, Doctor Kenny Anthony, has spoken on the Gros Piton development controversy.
Planning Minister Herod Stanislas last week acknowledged public concern regarding the development of a private dwelling house within the Pitons Management Area.
Stanislas said in a video recorded statement that the Department of Planning and the Development Control Authority (DCA) has abided by the laws and the rules governing the Pitons Management Area.
At the same time, he noted, among other things, that by letter dated December 28 2015, then Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Dr Kenny Anthony, granted the proposed buyer the status of an “Approved Developer.”
Anthony spoke on the issue in an interview conducted by Christopher Hunte and posted on social media.
In the interview, reproduced below, Anthony made it clear he will not be the scapegoat for the ruling United Workers Party (UWP).
