Dramatic video on social media captured a crash at Marisule, during which an occupant was ejected from a vehicle.
A Saint Lucia Fire Service official told St Lucia Times that the accident occurred near the Courts building.
According to the official, an ambulance transported the driver to hospital after someone reported the accident about 8.28 am Sunday.
But the driver’s condition was not immediately clear.
“Mate hit the pole and he fly out of the vehicle at the same time,” a male voice declares in a video recording on social media.
“Check him fly out eh. You see? He fly out and he roil over on the side deh.”
“That’s a piece of Hollywood dere my brother,” the voice says.
“Look at when he getting up. You see he sit down there? You see he stand up?”
The person speaking then asserts that the driver probably fell asleep at the wheel.
Another video on social media shows police and emergency personnel at the scene.
