Ella Prospere, who is also known as ‘Ecstasy’ has appealed to the person or persons responsible for the death of her close friend, Stephanie Thomas, to surrender to the police.
Stephanie’s decomposing body was discovered at Pigeon Island in January this year.
And on Thursday, police reported that DNA analysis had positively identified the body as that of the 22-year old.
However, sources close to the investigation say because of the state of the body, the cause of death is yet to be determined.
Prospere, who last month held a one-woman demonstration in Castries against violence directed at women, said the positive identification brought her some degree of relief.

“God is indeed working for we women and for the mother,” she declared.
“So I am happy that she has come to some sense of closure,” Prospere stated.
She said she was also happy that Stephanie would be ‘put to rest.’
However, she said she wanted ‘men out there’ to recognise that killing someone ‘is not joyous’.
“You are out there and I’m sure your heart is hurting because you take that young lady’s life,” ”Ecstasy” said.
Nevertheless, she expressed forgiveness.
“We forgive you – that’s all we can say right now,” Prospere explained.
And she repeated a call for the cycle of violence in this country to stop.
