Saint Lucia police arrested a tourist Wednesday at Gros Islet, after she spewed expletives at officers who asked her to wear a mask, eyewitnesses say.
The eyewitnesses told St Lucia Times that the incident occurred about 11.00 am at the Pigeon Island causeway.
The woman is from Europe, they said.
According to information, police took her into custody.

The woman’s local friends gathered outside the Gros Islet police station after she was arrested.
The latest incident comes as Saint Lucia grapples with a sharp increase in cases of COVID-19.
As a result of the spike, Prime Minister Allen Chastanet recently declared that this country was in the COVID-19 ‘Red Zone’.
