A motorcyclist died Monday morning after his bike collided with two vehicles on Chaussee Road, Castries, police say.
The accident occurred about 10.40 a.m. according to a law enforcement official, who explained that the biker collided with a vehicle turning onto Maryann Street and another that was parked on Chaussee Road.
The official told St Lucia Times that the biker, who was not wearing a helmet at the time, sustained ‘serious head injuries’.
Saint Lucia Fire Service Communications Officer, Stacy Joseph, said emergency personnel from fire service headquarters in Castries who responded found a male appearing in his twenties who was unresponsive and ‘severely injured’.
Joseph said the emergency responders bandaged the victim’s wounds and transported him to the OKEU Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by a medical practitioner.
