Father Of Two Missing During Dennery Fishing Trip

A father of two is missing and feared drowned while on a fishing expedition in Dennery, law enforcement officials say.

The missing man has been identified as Vincent Marcel, 48, of Aux Lyon, Dennery.

According to reports, Marcel, who is also known as ‘Genie’ went fishing on Saturday evening at Povert Point near Louvet beach.

The father of two was in the company of a friend at the time.

Area where Marcel is reported to have fallen

It was reported that Marcel fell into the choppy waters of the sea and was swept away.

Police and residents of the area, including MP Shawn Edward, conducted searches in the area but were unable to find any trace of Marcel.

The Marine Police were expected to continue the search for the missing man on Monday.

  1. The cliffs and waters at Louvet are quite dangerous. The history has been that when a person drowns on the east coast the body normally washes up on a beach along the eastern coast. Not sure how the rough seas will affect where and when the body emerges.
