A father was on his way to witness his deceased brother’s autopsy, when he received news that his 26-year old son had been shot dead at Roseau on Monday afternoon.
Chris Emmanuel told St Lucia Times that he recently arrived here from St Maarten to bury his brother who had passed away and was on his way to the hospital for the autopsy when he received a telephone call informing him that his son had been fatally shot.
Police say Christus Jn Baptiste, alias ‘Charchee’ of Bois D’Inde, Jacmel, died on the scene after being shot multiple times.
Reports indicate that the 26 year old labourer was at the time engaged in erecting a fence at St. Lucia Distillers.
His father recalled that he last saw his son Sunday night when they had a chat.
“We had a chat because he lives in my house at Bois D’ Inde – he and my brother were living there,” Emmanuel explained, but said after his brother died, only his son was living in the house.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the latest homicide.
