A grieving father is seeking answers after the shooting death of his son at Trois Piton, Castries, on Sunday.
Police identified the victim as Zenadin ‘Royston’ Felicien.
Law enforcement officials say they received a report about 2.30 pm that three males were shot at Trois Piton, Castries.
They said that Felicien sustained a gunshot wound to the chest and succumbed some time later.
His father, Linus Dupre told St Lucia Times he knows of no reason why anyone would have wanted the 19 year old dead.
But he did recall that the teenager had a misunderstanding with some other young men.
However, as far as the father is concerned, such a misunderstanding was no reason for a fatal shooting.
Dupre said he was at work when he received information about his son being shot.
He described the youngster as a good person.
“I can’t say nothing bad about my children – they’re all checking for me, I’m checking for them,” the father explained.
“All of them treating me good and I treating them the same way,” he disclosed.
According to Dupre, none of his children has ever disrespected him.
But he said he was at a loss to explain why his son was targetted.
Dupre said the death of his son, who turned 19 in November, has hit the family hard.
And Dupre expressed the hope that police will solve the case.
He said he last saw his son on Sunday.
