A house at La Toc went up in flames Wednesday morning.
The Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) reports that someone called the Castries Fire station about the fire at approximately 7:20am.
“The fire department responded with three units,” SLFS spokesman, Damian Jn Baptiste disclosed.
He said the responders found that the house was in a completely remote area.
As a result, Jn Baptiste explained that responders could not reach it with the fire appliances to carry out fire suppression.
He said while the fire destroyed the plywood structure, a bucket brigade prevented the flames from engulfing a nearby house.
According to the SLFS, the owner of the house that was destroyed was away at the time of the fire.
