Fire at home of retired fire officer

A fire yesterday at the home of a retired fire officer resulted in extensive damage to the roof of the building and the upper floor of the two storey structure at Mon Repos, emergency officials have said.

No one was injured as a result of the fire to which two fire trucks responded after an alarm was raised at around 3:pm.

It is reported that the house was occupied by retired firefighter Paul Marius aka “Capstan” and his family.

Micoud North MP, Doctor Gale Rigobert was among those on the scene yesterday.

The fire is currently under investigation.
