There was a total of 56 ambulance responses, inclusive of both the north (33 responses) and the south (23 responses) of the island.

The Fire Service recorded 2 case of physical assault, and 7 motor vehicular accidents over the weekend.

  • On Sunday 2nd April at approximately 6:35 p.m., a call was received requesting assistance for an individual who was stabbed on Micoud Street, Castries.  On arrival on scene, emergency personnel found one male individual sitting complaining of pain to his abdomen.  

Assessment by the responding crew revealed that the patient was bleeding profusely from a wound to his upper abdomen. The wound was bandaged and he was transferred to the ambulance. The patient was then transported in a stable condition to the Victoria Hospital for further treatment.  

  • On Sunday 2nd April, 2017 at approximately 5:25 p.m., a call was received informing of a motor vehicular accident at Belle Vie-Der, Canaries. It was reported that a motorcycle collided with another vehicle.

Upon arrival, emergency personnel found one adult male lying on his stomach on the road. Initial assessment by the crew revealed that the patient had a weak pulse. He was quickly immobilized and a rapid physical examination was done which revealed deformities to his arms and legs and the left side of his chest.

The patient was then transferred to the ambulance where oxygen was administered. He was then transported to the Soufriere Hospital in a serious but stable condition. The patient later succumbed to his injuries.
