Fire Service reports 11 weekend fire calls

There were 11 fire calls for the weekend. 6 bush fires, and 5 structural fires which resulted in the complete destruction of 1 wooden structure in Cacao Girard, Castries and one completely destroyed and one partially destroyed structure in Soufriere.

  • On Sunday 2nd April, the Fire  Service received a call at approximately 11:00 p.m., informing of a structural fire at Soufriere.

Emergency personnel from the Soufriere Fire Station immediately responded. Upon arrival on the scene, fire personnel discovered one wooden structure measuring approximately 20×19 feet completely destroyed and another measuring approximately 21×30 feet partially destroyed by fire.  

There were no particular challenges associated with extinguishing this fire. It was promptly brought under control by the response team.

No one was reported injured as it relates to this incident.

  • On Sunday 2nd April, the Fire  Service received a call at approximately 10:50 a.m., informing of a structural fire at Cacao Girard, Castries.

Emergency personnel from the Fire Service Headquarters immediately responded. As a result one wooden structure measuring approximately 16×12 feet was completely destroyed by fire. No one was reported injured as it relates to this incident.
