Fire Service reports 73 ambulance responses over the weekend

There was a total of 73 ambulance responses – 52 in the north and 21 in the south of the island.

The Fire Service recorded 2 cases of physical assault, 1 shooting incident and 6 motor vehicular accidents over the weekend.

On Sunday 9th April at approximately 12:10 p.m., a call was received requesting assistance for an individual who got stabbed at Goodlands, Castries. Upon arrival at scene, emergency personnel found one male individual was found lying on his back on the floor in a pool of blood.

Initial assessment revealed that patient had no vital signs and sustained puncture wounds to his left bicep and the left side of his chest area.

The patient was immediately transferred to the ambulance where CPR was initiated.

An automated external defibrillator was attached and “no shock” was advised.

CPR was continued en route to the Victoria Hospital where the patient was later pronounced dead.

Fire Calls

There were eleven fire calls for the weekend. Nine rubbish/bush fires, one vehicle fire, and one structural fire.

No major fires were reported.
