Emergency officials were kept busy again on Monday as a spate of road accidents continued, this time transporting five people to the OKEU Hospital after a minibus ran off the Morne Road, Castries, and crashed into a utility pole.
According to reports, the bus driver, who plies the Vieux Fort to Castries route, experienced brake problems.
The Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) says the accident occurred about 6:43 am near the Johnson Memorial Home.

SLFS officials said that aside from the five patients they transported to the hospital, the rest of the individuals aboard the bus at the time of the accident declined medical treatment.

All i can say i like the view its very prevalent in our road side these days – almost every day you can witness a bend up vehicle on the road sire in Sweet St. Lucia
@ just saying….it depends… no doctor knows my body better than me….sometimes it is wiser to go home and rest with some chichima in peace than to wait 12 hours in an ER before seeing a doc. I said sometimes and it depends!

It amazes me when folk who are involved in an accident in a third world country with extremely limited healthcare resources decline treatment after an accident.
You can not take for granted how you feel – I pray that you are ok. However, you may feel ok at the moment but also have internal injuries with may need to be addressed. Therefore, it is wise to get yourself checked before it’s too late.
