Press Release:-International basketball is in Saint Lucia this weekend, and Flow – the Caribbean’s leading quad-play telecoms provider – is putting on the full court press. The Saint Lucia Basketball Federation (SLBF) is hosting the 2017 IBF 3×3 Antilles Hoops Final, a youth tournament that is biggest event ever organised on island, with a total of 18 boys’ and girls’ teams from 11 Caribbean territories. And in collaboration with Flow, the SLBF is looking forward this tournament being a major success.
Flow is providing the Federation with internet access to facilitate a live stream to an anticipated audience of over 150 thousand; mobile plans and credit for key members of the organising committee; SIM cards for over 200 players, coaches, delegates, technical and support staff; audience giveaways, including a Huawei smartphone; and tents for the VIP area. According to Leslie Collymore, president of the SLBF, teaming up with Flow is nothing short of a slam dunk.
“We are really excited about this event,” said Collymore. “And we are equally excited that Flow has given us their support in making this happen. Communication is crucial to putting on something of this magnitude, when you are talking about dealing with so many different countries, people speaking different languages, and partnering with Flow allows us to be certain that we have the best possible infrastructure in place. We are utterly thrilled that they were able to come on board.”
The tournament takes place on Saturday and Sunday at the Vigie Sports Complex, from 1:00 p.m. each day. Games will be streamed live via antilles3x3.com and the SLBF social media pages, facebook.com/slbfed and follow @luciabasketball on Twitter. Patrons can also enjoy musical entertainment and bouncing castles.
