Folk Research Centre Elects New Directors At AGM

Press Release:-  The Msgr. Patrick Anthony Folk Research Centre (FRC) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday January 19th at its new rented headquarters in the Valmonte building at Barnard Hill, Castries. The meeting which began at 10:15 was attended by more than forty (40) members, a marked improvement in attendance of previous AGM’s.

A key item on the Agenda was a feature address from the former Minister of Sustainable Development Dr. Jimmy Fletcher. His theme was “The FRC in a dynamic, evolving environment.”

Members witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the FRC and a family member of the Late W. St. Clair Daniel whose family donated Mr. Daniel’s entire library to the FRC.

Following a report on the work of the FRC a Strategic Plan for the next five years was unveiled. This Strategic Plan will provide the road-map for the organization for the next five years

A major aspect of the AGM was the election of Directors for the FRC. Those elected were as follows:

1. Floreta Nicholas

2. Victor Poyotte

3. Mc. Donald Dixon

4. Sylvester Dickson

5. Embert Charles

6. Rhyesa Joseph

7. Maquia Foster

8. Kentillia Louis

9. Valerie Constantine Regis

These will join Msgr. Patrick Anthony, life-time Director of the FRC, to form the Board for the next two years.
