Weather forecasters are this week closely monitoring some areas of disturbed weather in the Atlantic basin.
According to the AccuWeather website, they include a tropical wave which on Sunday was located several hundred miles west of the Cabo Verde Islands.
The website said there is a 30% chance that this system gradually strengthens while tracking westward through the central tropical Atlantic Ocean this week.
It quoted AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Adam Douty as saying that another wave is expected to move off the coast of Africa through Monday and will bear watching for tropical development later this week.
Douty also disclosed that a disturbance will pass to the north of the eastern Caribbean and into the Bahamas early this week.
“It will have to be monitored as it tracks generally to the west to west-northwest,” he stated.
The Bahamas is in recovery mode after being devastated by Hurricane Dorian on September 2.
So far, the death toll is 45.
Some 70,000 people were in need of food and shelter, the United Nations said.
