Former Saint Lucia Ambassador has congratulated a Gros Islet woman who regularly cleans up her community.
Seventy-four year old Leena Daniel and her neighbour, Alvin, featured in a St Lucia Times article on Tuesday.
They were cleaning up the Bella Rosa area which included trimming overhanging trees and pruning shrubs.
“This is to congratulate Ms. Leena Daniel on her inspiring community clean up activities,” former Ambassador, Dr. Joseph Edmunds wrote in an email to St Lucia Times.
“She is an example to all of us that in spite of age we can contribute to our community and neighborhood,” Edmunds asserted.
“At 74, before and after, we all have a role to play in this regard,” he stated.
Edmunds is a former Ambassador of Saint Lucia to the UN, OAS, and the United States.
He is also a former member of the Executive Board of UNESCO.
