Four persons were injured when two buses collided at Rodney Bay Friday night, the Saint Lucia Fire Service says.
The collision occurred near Fleva Electronics and Hardware store, according to reports.
Fire Service spokeswoman Stacy Joseph told St Lucia Times about 10:05 p.m., the Castries Fire Station received a call regarding a head-on motor vehicular collision involving two mini-buses at Rodney Bay.
She said the Gros Islet and Babonneau Fire Stations were informed and back-up was provided.
Joseph disclosed that the responding officers found a male driver trapped in one of the vehicles.
She explained that rescue tools were used to safely extricate the patient.
“Three other individuals were found in the back of the other vehicle. They were assessed and it was noted that the patients sustained head and other bodily injuries, with one complaining of chest pain,” the fire service spokeswoman stated.
Joseph told St Lucia Times that the four patients were transferred to ambulances and transported in stable condition to the OKEU Hospital.
