National Security Minister, Hermangild Francis has been highlighting what he described as simple things that business establishments can implement in response to crime.
Francis, a former Deputy Police Commissioner, spoke on Friday against the backdrop of a spate of armed robberies in the business sector.
Among the measures he recommended was controlled access.
“Management of the door – I buzz you in. Before you come in you must take off the (COVID-19) mask,” he told reporters.
Francis observed that at banks, customers are required to not only sanitise, but to remove their masks and face the CCTV camera.
He explained that in that way, if the customer does anything the business establishment would be able to identify him.
“There are just little techniques, little things that some of the store owners can do or implement and then we can make sure that the crime is solved,” Francis stated.
