‘Gangland Style Shootout’ Leaves One Man Dead In Laborie

Police say they are investigating reports that a ‘gangland style shootout’ Wednesday night left a man in his twenties dead near Wilrock Quarry in Laborie.

According to law enforcement officials, the deceased – whom they identified as Vijay Phillip, alias ‘Black Boy’, appeared to have been attempting to flee when he was shot multiple times and died at the scene.

The officials told St Lucia Times that they are investigating reports that for some unknown reason, two car groups of armed men engaged in the shootout, resulting in the Island’s latest homicide.

Police investigations are continuing.

There are no further details at this time.
