Fourteen persons were injured Sunday afternoon about 5:00 pm as a result of a freak accident at Vanard, emergency officials have confirmed.
The officials told St Lucia Times that the accident occurred during a period of carnival revelry when some revellers became entangled in a rope that was attached to a moving truck.
According to information, two of the injured were transported to Victoria Hospital by the police, while the others were conveyed by ambulance.
It is reported that the injured suffered mostly abrasions and minor fractures.
The Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) said three ambulances, two from Castries and one from Gros Islet, responded along with a fire truck from Castries.
A video, said to have been shot in the aftermath of the Sarrot incident, has been posted on social media.
