Two persons are homeless after a fire Monday morning destroyed the apartment in which they were living, the Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) has said.

According to an SLFS spokesman, the fire broke out in a concrete building that housed three apartments.

One apartment was completely destroyed, while there was minimal damage to one of them, it was reported.

A vehicle that was parked near the building sustained extensive fire damage, the SLFS spokesman told St Lucia Times.

The owner of the apartment building is currently abroad.
