Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves has expressed concern that some people just report ‘comess and hearsay’, in connection with the La Soufrière volcano disaster.
Gonsalves spoke on state-owned NBC Radio on Friday.
He disclosed that someone, whom he described as being responsible, had sent him a text asking whether it was true that two children had died.
And the Vincentian leader observed that another individual also called saying they had heard that a child died.
However, Gonsalves explained that the photographs or reports were from some other country.
“I mean I said to you already, if you want to find out what is happening just follow the reports from NEMO, follow the reports from the Ministry of Health – I mean, how many times I have to say this?” He declared.
“But nowadays too many people want to believe rumour and hearsay and fake news,” Gonsalves lamented.
“They must really stop it,” he asserted.
