Government hastens departure of Lewis, Warner-Arnold

The Director of the Saint Lucia Tourist Board (SLTB), Louis Lewis and his Deputy, Tracy Warner-Arnold, spent their last day on the job yesterday, reliable sources have told the Times.

According to the sources, the government decided to pay them off to allow them to leave the SLTB ahead of their due departure date.

Both Lewis and Warner-Arnold recently quit their posts.

Lewis was due to officially leave in January next year while Warner-Arnold was due to leave later this month.

Although the two have not spoken publicly about their decision to quit, well-informed sources have told the Times that there has been a level of ‘disquiet’ at the SLTB.

The government has plans to transition the SLTB to a Tourism Authority.

In this regard, reliable reports indicate that SLTB staff were informed yesterday that they would have to reapply for jobs in the new entity.

According to information obtained by the Times, the staff members were also informed that in due course termination letters will be prepared.

In addition, it is reported that SLTB representatives in North America have been given notice that their contracts will be terminated.
