Government Warns Against Fake COVID-19 Notices

Press Release:- In recent times there has been an increase in fake notices purporting to be from the Government of Saint Lucia in the public domain, especially as it relates to the protocols for COVID-19.

The public is reminded to please get information from official Government sources and that any announcement or adjustment to protocols will only come through official channels. 

The public is also called on to resist from sharing or forwarding notices which have not emanated from the Government of Saint Lucia and as it relates to protocols for COVID-19 be guided by the Ministry of Health and Wellness and the Statutory Instruments which are published through the Government Gazette.

The public is also advised that there has been no adjustment to the curfew hours which still stand from 7:00PM to 4:00AM each day as per SI No. 42 of 2021.

There has also been a notable increase in the number of fake profiles created bearing the names of Government Ministers via Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts.

The Office of the Prime Minister would again like to inform the public that at no time will any Government minister message you about your personal details or request funds from you for any transaction.

Social media users are advised to disregard and report any requests or communication from such pages as well as refrain from sharing any personal information or paying money to these said accounts. 

All communication from the Government and Government officials is shared via the official Government of Saint Lucia and Office of the Prime Minister Facebook pages.
