GPO Closes Temporarily After Employee Tests Positive For COVID-19

The Saint Lucia Postal Service has announced the temporary closure of the General Post Office (GPO) .

The closure took effect from Monday, November 23, 2020  and extends to Friday, November 27, 2020.

“One of our employees has tested positive for COVID-19 and we are currently working with the Ministry of Health to undergo the contact tracing of individuals identified as being in close contact with the affected employee,” a statement from the Department of Finance said Tuesday.

According to the statement, by way of safeguarding the general public and staff members of the General Post Office, Management took the decision to keep the office closed during the that period.

“In light of this, we encourage all our customers to visit the other Post Offices which are available island wide. We do apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Stay safe!” It said.
