Gros Islet MP, Lenard ‘Spider’ Montoute has urged people to be patient as a national COVID-19 vaccine drive continues.

As of Saturday, the  Ministry of Health said a total of 4883 people had received vaccines.

Montoute, who got his first  AstraZeneca jab last week, observed that given the large numbers, people may experience delays.

But he urged them to ‘bear some patience’.

Montoute noted that the nurses and doctors have been working extremely hard ‘to keep us safe.’

And he observed that given the sensitivity of the process, the lines may move slower than expected.

The Gros Islet MP made the comments on his official Facebook page on Saturday.

Montoute said he was encouraged by the number of people who turned out to get their vaccine at the Gros Islet Human Resource Development Centre.

He also disclosed that the vaccine campaign continues in Gros Islet at the Daren Sammy Stadium on Tuesday, March 9th as well as the Grand Riviere Wellness Centre on Saturday March 13th, 2021.
