Gros Islet Youth Group Concludes Elections

Press Release:–  On Sunday, 22nd August 2021, the Gros Islet North Youth and Sports Council (GINYSC) held its 2nd Biennial General Meeting and due to the current COVID-19 governmental regulations, the GINYSC sort to hold a hybrid style meeting having both physical (at the Gros Islet Human Resource Development Centre) and virtual attendance (via Zoom Meetings).

Commencing promptly at 9:27am, the Biennial General Meeting opened with bestowed prayer followed by welcome remarks and Presidential Address by the Outgoing President, Miss Raejean Montoute. Also, tabled on the agenda for this meeting was the presentation of the Executive Report and Financial Statement of the outgoing Executive, the Election of New Officers to the Council and an open discussion of members to chart the way forward of the Council in the new tenure.

The Electoral Process was led by Miss Anya Edwin- Acting President to the Saint Lucia National Youth Council and Mr. Nickson Barry – Youth and Sports Officer at Ministry of Youth Development and Sports.

Participating in the electoral process were affiliates of the GINYSC (both club and individual members).

Club Members are as follows: Pantime Steel Orchestra, Gros Islet Athletics Club, Do Something Different, RADTP, Northern United All Stars, Monchy Football Club, and the Rotaract Club of Gros Islet.

The newly elected officers are as follows:
Ms. Raejean Montoute – President
Ms. Theona Edan – First Vice President
Mr. Otev Lawrence – Second Vice President
Ms. Francine Mason- Public Relations Officer
Mr. Sanjay Mitchel – Treasurer
Mr. Sabien St. Ange – Assistant Secretary/Treasurer
Ms. Nicole Camsel – Secretary
Mr. Lawrencius Felix – Trustee
Mr. Quint Augustin – Trustee
Ms. Samani Mathurin – Floor Representative

Gratitude is given to the Electoral Committee for executing a steady fast election, and the new executive congratulates the delegates and other participants for their keen interest in the forum and election.
