Guyana police Sunday destroyed some 600,000 marijuana plants ranging from six inches to five feet in height, local reports say.
It occurred during an early morning raid at De Veldt Savannah, Upper Berbice River.
According to a police statement quoted by Stabroek News, officers discovered three suspected cannabis farms.
The police statement said the farms measured about 15 acres.
Three men escaped when they saw the law enforcement officers.
Police said they recovered a shotgun and ammunition from the scene.
