The inmate involved in Thursday morning’s attack on another inmate at the Bordelais Correctional Facility (BCF), is reported to have attempted to commit suicide.

According to information obtained by the Times the inmate, identified as Junior Duncan, swallowed several pills.

Sources disclosed that the pills were given to him as part of treatment for a gunshot wound he sustained in Thursday’s incident.

Duncan was rushed to the Dennery Hospital at around 6:00 p.m., according to reports.

The inmate’s condition was not immediately clear.

He and another inmate are reported to have attacked another prisoner.

The duo than turned on members of a BCF response team.

According to BCF officials, they opened fire on the men hitting Duncan in the region of the shoulder, after all other means of subduing him and his accomplice, including the use of pepper spray, failed.

National Security Minister, Hermangild Francis Friday praised the restraint exercised during the incident by BCF staff which did not result in a fatal shooting.

  1. My question is ? Why give him to hold all the pill he has to take? In prison each time the hour for the medication come you give it to him. And watch him take it .

    • True but big men like that after you have to watch their every move you still have to spoon feed them. Bring the meds every time. Watch them drink it

  2. This is your fault why he had the medication? don’t you have a policy when it come to giving inmates medication.
