Castries South MP Dr. Ernest Hilaire has urged Saint Lucians to unite to remove the current Allen Chastanet administration.

The call came as the Prime Minister announced Saturday that elections will be ‘very soon.’

“We must work together to remove this vindictive, arrogant selfish and uncaring Government from our backs,” Hilaire wrote on his official Facebook page.

“We must remind the Government that it must put our people first and the interest of Saint Lucia above everything else. We must do it together,” the Castries South MP asserted.

He recalled that four years ago, victory was celebrated  in Castries South.

Hilaire said he will always be immensely grateful to the people of Castries South for electing him.

He observed that in return, he has tried to give the people the best representation in Parliament, in the communities and personally.

“I won’t stop until our dream of a better Castries South is achieved,” Hilaire declared.

He observed that although the Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP) won in Castries South,  it was painful that, as a party, it lost the General Elections of June 6, 2016.

Hilaire explained that the period before the 2016 election was a difficult rebuilding process for the SLP government of St Lucia.

“Difficult because we started the work of putting our country on a steady path of development and prosperity after coming out of the reckless rule of the UWP Government of 2006 -2011. We lost the opportunity to continue the work programme of rebuilding Saint Lucia at the polls in 2016,” he stated.

According to the Castries South MP, in 2016 the United Workers Party was voted in after offering so many false and unrealistic promises.

“And today in 2020 we are witnessing a continued onslaught against ordinary working people and total disregard for the suffering of the middle class,” Hilaire lamented.

According to him, it is clear that this Government is not for the people but is relentlessly pursuing it’s own self interest and that of its Friends, Family and undeserving Foreigners.
