This reassurance comes as Minister for Commerce, Manufacturing, Business Development, Cooperatives and Consumer Affairs makes good on her promise to engage and support all business sectors.
In keeping with this promise, last week, Minister Hippolyte met with the executive of the St. Lucia Cooperative Credit Union League and Realtors Associations (St. Lucia) Inc.
The Minister’s meeting with the St. Lucia Cooperative Credit Union league on October 27th ,2021, was quite opportune as the organization celebrated the 73rd anniversary of International Credit Union Day on October 21st , 2021, under the theme, Building Financial Health for a Brighter Tomorrow.
During the discussion, Minister Hipployte gave a firm commitment to progress the Cooperatives Societies Bill and Regulations, to modernize the operation of the Cooperative Sector.
The Real Estate industry in Saint Lucia currently boast approximately 500 practicing agents supporting the industry which accounts for 13% of the Country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
Appreciating the value of the industry and its national importance, the Minister and key Ministry officials met with the officials of the Realtors Associations (St.Lucia) Inc. to take stock of their concerns, reassure them of the Ministry’s commitment to the sector and pledge to lend support to implement a legislative structure to govern the industry.

The private sector and civil society are recognized as critical stakeholders and partners in economic development; as such, engagements will continue, to ensure the Ministry offers targeted assistance to all business sectors.
