Hurricane Warning In Effect For Bermuda

A hurricane warning is in effect for Bermuda as hurricane Humberto continues to strengthen.

Schools and offices have also been ordered closed while citizens have been ordered off the road from 7.00 pm Wednesday, the Royal Gazette says.

According to media reports,  Humberto continues to strengthen as a Category 3 major storm Wednesday.

The United States National Hurricane Centre says  is  expected to bring hurricane like conditions to Bermuda Wednesday night.

CNN Meteorologists have said that Humberto is due to pass less than 100 miles from Bermuda.

Humberto is one of three storms drawing attention in the Atlantic basin, CNN is reporting.

According to CNN, Imelda, a tropical depression, has rescue teams on the alert as it threatens to dump the most rain since Hurricane Harvey on eastern Texas.

Tropical Storm Jerry, still far east of the Leeward Islands, could strengthen into a hurricane by week’s end, the news channel said.
