An inmate at the Bordelais Correctional Facility (BCF) was reported ‘unresponsive’ on Thursday morning after a ‘stabbing incident’ at the institution’s maximum security Delta Unit, investigators say.
According to the investigators, the inmate, whose identity has not been released, was discovered about 10:00 a.m. in a pool of blood after apparently having been stabbed with a ‘piece of fencing.’
But other inmates who may have been eyewitnesses are said to be tight-lipped about what actually occurred.
Well informed sources told St Lucia Times that the Delta Unit has been the scene of ‘a lot of gang activity’ involving inmates belonging to different gangs and that Thursday’s incident was the latest in several that have occurred in the past few weeks.
