Jamaican National Charged For Possession Of Unlicensed Gun, Ammo

Jamaican national, Orville Andrew Pernell, has been charged by the police with possession of a .380 pistol and ammunition, law enforcement officials have confirmed.

According to the police, Pernell was the driver of a white Suzuki Escudo which a police mobile patrol stopped as the vehicle headed to Castries from Gros Islet.

It was reported that the mobile patrol recovered a .380 Mauser pistol and three ‘spare’ rounds of ammunition from the pocket of the Jamaican national.

Pernell was due in court Monday to answer the charges.

  1. I’m hoping that he doesn’t get a slap on the wrist. He must be made to feel the full brunt of Law,we have no idea what his motives were, maybe he was on his way to commit a crime and we St.lucians would have to carry the bad names ,in the regional and international press,if he wasn’t caught. I am of the opinion that he should not be granted Bail, fearing that he may abscond, please send him on Remand down Dennery and ensure that he says where he obtained this illegal weapon,we need to close that ring, indefinitely.

  2. That Firearm should be sent to the Ballistic Expert to find out whether that Particular Weapon have been used to Commit Murders in St.Lucia

    • Do you also believe the third person should be remanded? There were two Jamaicans in the vehicle…. and another person. From Trinidad I heard from credible sources.

  3. If you get caught in the USA with an ilegal firearm, you do your time first then you may get sent back,or deported. And you better have money ready, they dont mess around
